NASA-JPL offered my college Visual Design students a really fun opportunity to interpret the data from the Juno Mission sent back by the Juno Cam. This project is open for all to participate. We were so excited to have the opportunity to meet with Dr. Candy Hansen who is a planetary scientist and is responsible for the development and operation of JunoCam. JunoCam is the first interplanetary outreach camera and has been used to produce close-up images of Jupiter, as well as images of Jupiter’s moons.

Students used a variety of software to interpret the data. Fiona Leahy made a video documenting the experience of interpreting the data:

The class created a diverse series of still images and videos, embracing the opportunity to play with the data in relation to iconic art images.
