Enid Baxter Ryce is artist in residence creating the exhibition: Insignias of Fort Ord: Art in Everyday Military Life.

Fort Ord has a rich artistic history, evidenced by the many murals throughout the ruins of the base created by soldiers. Artist Enid Baxter Ryce creates an exhibition, in collaboration with local veterans and students, exploring the visual language of Fort Ord. Featured will be veteran’s stories, created with the support of the Library of Congress Veterans History Project; images of the lost murals of Fort Ord including a recreation of the original Lightfighter mural; and original works by members of the Veterans Transition Center.

In collaboration with the museum, creating a web project linking works in the permanent collection to places outside the walls. Sponsored by the Irvine foundation, launching 2016.
